Not tested in the real game yet. WoW: Forever opens on 4 November 2026; until the parts that move gold have been checked there, use Guild Buyback with small amounts.

A free addon for World of Warcraft: Forever

Your raid's materials are already in your guildmates' bags

So why does an officer spend the night before the raid buying herbs on the auction house? Because selling to the guild is a chore: a Discord post, a trade when you're both online, and an officer who has to remember who was paid. Your herbalists list on the auction house instead, which takes 5% of every sale and keeps the deposit when one doesn't sell.

Guild Buyback makes selling to the guild the easy option. The banker publishes what the guild pays for each herb, ore, cloth and leather. Members mail theirs from any mailbox, whenever they like, and get that price, with no deposit, cut or undercutting. The addon checks every sale mail before anything is paid and keeps the books. The raid gets its flasks, and the gold goes to the people who gathered the herbs.

Only the banker needs the addon, and the guild master once to name the banker. Members can sell with just a mailbox.

The whole picture

Every sale goes the same way: the banker posts prices, a member mails the items, the addon checks the mail, the banker accepts it and the member is paid. What the guild buys goes to its raids and crafters, back to members through the guild store, or to the auction house.

Three ways to be paid

Gold later and credit pay more because they cost the guild no gold on the day. Members sell whenever they like; the banker does not need to be online. Each step in detail: How it works.

See it in the addon's windows

The demo plays one day in a guild, step by step: Guild Banker runs the buyback, and Guild Member and Rhea Quill are two of its members. Use Next or the numbered steps, and hover or tap a row for its tooltip.

For the banker

Build the price list from your bags, ready-made lists (herbs, cloth, ore and more) or the Auctionator addon's scans, and publish it to the guild. At the mailbox, accept every sale that matches the list with one click and one confirmation. Store orders have their own window. Payouts and credit use /gbb chat commands for now; a ledger window follows after launch.

For members

Sell at any mailbox, whenever you like, for a known price: no auction house fees, deposits or undercutting. Items the guild buys show its price in their tooltip. Follow each sale until it is paid, and spend credit in the guild store. Without the addon, mail the items to the banker C.O.D. at the prices the banker posts.

Keeping the gold safe

Each sale mail is checked against the price list, and again just before it is taken. If a price changes after you send, you keep the price you saw for 48 hours (24 for Resale items). Mail over an item's weekly cap waits for the banker, and buying pauses on its own when the guild's gold and stock no longer cover what it owes its members.

What it does not do

Status

Guild Buyback is free and open source (MIT licence) and is written for WoW: Forever, patch 1.60.1. There is no download yet: it comes with the first release, and guilds on the launch test list hear first.

Test it at launch

The first weeks of WoW: Forever are Guild Buyback's test in the real game. Guilds on the list hear first when the release is out, start with small amounts of gold, and get the fixes first.
